Historic info
Franklin's Lost Expedition was a British voyage of Arctic exploration led by Captain Sir John Franklin. Having departed from England in 1845, the ships HMS Erebus and HMS Terror became icebound near King William Island in the Canadian Arctic (Nunavut). The entire expedition was tragically lost and its fate became surrounded by mystery and speculation. Research and dive expeditions at the wreck sites are still ongoing today.
